Sustainability

Our approach to sustainability

At Comprimé, we believe in a wardrobe that lasts. A wardrobe that saves you time, feels right for life's many occasions – and doesn't go out of date next season. We build on the idea of a capsule wardrobe: classic, functional pieces that can be mixed and matched, forming a solid foundation for a timeless style.

We're a Norwegian-owned brand, with our feet planted in Scandinavian realism and our eyes on the world. We know the textile industry faces enormous challenges, and we have no plans to pretend we've solved everything. On the contrary: we believe honesty is the most sustainable starting point.

What we do – and what we don't do

We've reduced water consumption, chemicals and waste in our production, but we're still far from perfect. We work long-term with our suppliers, have a dedicated sustainability manager developing strategies, and we produce within laws and regulations. But we're missing stricter industry standards and clearer frameworks – it shouldn't be up to individual brands to choose how seriously they take this responsibility.

That's why you won't find greenwashing here. We make clothes meant to last, with options for repair and a longer life, rather than garments that quickly lose value. We're more interested in delivering honest products than dressing up reality.

Comprimé will never claim to be the answer to all the industry's challenges. But we promise to be a responsible voice at the table, and to contribute with clothes that make sense – both for you, and for an industry that needs to change.

Why we still make clothes

Yes, the world already has too many clothes. But we believe someone needs to take responsibility for making them in a more sensible way. Comprimé exists to offer an alternative: clothes that work in everyday life, that aren't driven by short-lived trends, and that have a footprint we're constantly working to reduce.

We believe 70% of your wardrobe should consist of timeless, classic pieces you can always return to. The rest can be the unique finds, the inherited treasures and the personal expressions that make your style come alive. We champion the combination of sense and personality – for a wardrobe with both soul and durability.

An honest balance

For us, sustainability is about more than materials and production – it's about a mentality. Buying fewer, but better pieces. Creating a wardrobe that provides security, control and freedom in a busy everyday life. And doing it without wagging fingers, but with pragmatism and respect for the fact that all choices happen in a reality full of compromises.
